This fitting sequel to the first volume continues with another excellent selection of plans, diagrams, photographs and text that bring our freight history to life. Of particular interest is the section covering the variations in the Z class bogie covered goods wagons, though Ocean Beach enthusiasts will doubtlessly be drawn to make comparisons between the near new Xp Ventilated Fruit Van pictured and our own restored example. The N and Lc wagon also bear some similarity with our own examples. The perspective drawings are an particular feature of this series and make interpreting the plans far easier. The cross sections also serve to illustrate the lengths the author has gone to in his research.
